The Transportation Coordinator will be responsible for managing the coordination of shipments by securing quotes and capacity with qualified carriers and proactively monitoring the movement of freight to ensure customer satisfaction.
Qualifications/Requirements
• 2-3 years of freight forwarding/3PL experience
• Knowledge of rules and regulations for over the road and shipments moving internationally
• Experience in all modes of transport including; FTL, LTL, Air, FCL, Rail, and Parcel
• Support both customers and carriers daily to ensure satisfaction and operational excellence
• Self-starter with good judgment and can proactively manage up where appropriate
• Accountable for results strives to meet and exceed expectations
• Time management/prioritization and follow-up skills
• Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
• Active listener with excellent communication skills
• Sound judgment and critical thinking
Duties include but are not limited to:
• Dispatching all modes of transportation
• Coordinate trans-border moves within the continental U.S.
• Maintain delivery schedules and track deliveries to ensure deadlines are met
• Provide tracking information to internal and external customers
• Handle customer complaints and investigate delivery issues
• New and existing customer retention
• Assist with internal and external customer billing
• Assist with quoting and load building
• Manage and review carrier invoice discrepancies and approve freight bills for payment
• Analyze delivery costs and recommend more cost-effective methods of transportation
• Assist with special projects and assignments as business dictates
Must be comfortable working in the office daily from Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm.
