Manages the compliance workload to ensure timely customs clearances within the department
Maintains relationship with customers to continuously improve processes and improve performance
Ensures USA and INTL Guidelines and/or standard procedures are followed
Assure proper information flow with business development owner and operations team on changes and/or problems with external customers, with specific focus on Customs Compliance
Ensure proper training and development of the department staff and provide adequate cross-training
Evaluate staff performance on a regular basis
Thorough monitoring and auditing customs brokerage transactions and procedures ensuring the Branch meets the requirements outlined covering Permits & Licensing, and Broker Compliance Guidelines
Requirements:
Customs Brokerage License with freight forwarding background
Minimum 5 years’ experience in customs clearance brokerage with preferably with 2 years’ experience in a customs brokerage leadership position
Ability to read, interpret, analyze, and assimilate customs regulations and other government agency requirements
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of experience running a customs brokerage operation
People Management and Leadership skills (recruitment, selection, training, development, coaching, performance management)
