Job Description

The scope of this position will be that he or she will spend the majority of time on supervisory tasks, along with but not limited to responsible supervision and control over the employees and customs transactions for which they have been entrusted

Responsibilities:

  • Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules and expedite workflow where possible
  • Works with direct reports to identify process improvement opportunities for efficiency gains
  • Supervise and maintain control of department activities
  • Assigns duties and examines work for accuracy
  • ISF workflow monitor
  • Provide for backup in case of employee absence, if necessary performing the work directly
  • Process entries as needed (some set accounts but more focused on assisting others when out of office of volume spikes)
  • Ensure that all entries are filed and processed in a timely manner
  • Sign documents as attorney in fact.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with U.S. Customs and PGS’s laws and regulations
  • Plan for and hold effective weekly department meetings with team
  • Monitor team performance against company standards and department goals
  • Responsible for meeting key performance indicators
  • Perform audits on transactions and ensure compliance to all customs brokerage transactions.
  • Issue work instructions to team members to ensure timely and orderly file flow including release, billing, and auditing

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience with International Shipments Customs Clearances within a Freight Forwarding company
  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Customs Brokerage License preferred
  • Ability to prioritize tasks of different importance
  • Organization of self and focus on attention to detail
  • Time management skills
  • Strong creative solving skills
  • Microsoft Office experience and Outlook required
