Job Description

 

Responsibilities

  • This position is responsible for handling all aspects of our clients’ export shipments from route planning, pricing, customer service, and accounting/closing of shipments financially
  • Maintain and close additional business with current customer portfolio
  • This position works with key stakeholders to increase business
  • The main stakeholders are Commercial Team, Branch Managers, Product Heads, and others, as needed
  • Maintain and grow business within their customer portfolio
  • Maintain daily contact with customers, agents, and colleagues
  • Maintain communication between overseas offices and agents
  • Perform monthly customer reviews via phone and register the outcome in CRM
  • Confirm all customer contacts are accurately registered in CRM
  • Update and follow customer profile instructions keeping them current
  • Maintain knowledge of IATA and/or rules and regulations, and its application to business
  • Work with various ocean carriers and other vendors providing services to internal team and customers
  • Work with pricing tools to research net freight rates to quote overseas agents, offices, and customers
  • Issue quotations and bookings per customer requests
  • Accurately and timely invoice both customers and agents
  • Ensure internal team receives correct and timely billings from vendors and agents
  • Escalate customer complaints to branch management and commercial owner
  • Close files as soon as all information is complete
  • Profit and loss statements must be run and working files must be filed away
  • Ensure ameta’s are issued correctly, and disputes resolved in a timely manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned
 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of previous freight forwarding customer service
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • High school diploma is required
  • Adaptable – responds effectively to changes in situation or information
  • Exceptional interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills required
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, prioritize, and have strong time management
  • Flexible, adaptable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
