This position provides administrative support for the smooth, efficient, and economical movement of raw materials and finished goods from suppliers, between facilities, and to final customers.  The Transportation Coordinator works primarily in partnership with planning, customer service, and operations to meet the transportation function’s on-time performance objectives and deliver seamless customer service to our internal and external customers.  This position reports to the Transportation Manager and offers the successful applicant the challenge of applying their skills and experience in a newly established department.

Responsibilities:

• Routing, shipping, and tracking arranged inbound and outbound shipments
• Precise assembly of shipment documents and distribution to both internal and external customers
• Damage claim investigations, filings, and follow-up
• Coordination of shipping and receiving dock appointments
• Freight quote requests
• Compliance with International customs and shipping regulations
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• 1-3 years of related work experience
• Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time
• Ability to communicate instructions clearly, concisely, and accurately both verbally and in writing
